Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

March 23rd, 2020

Dear UFCF Community,

In light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we recommend checking the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control websites for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Firstly, On March 17th, 2020 Mrs. Sandra Fatmi-Hall announced that the United Foundation of Central Florida, Inc. has decided to cancel and or postpone all of our scheduled activities with the community and our student scholars of the Future Leaders United After-School Enrichment and Mentoring Program at Evans High School.

This decision was made to take precautions against the further spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) through travel and large social gatherings. We want to apologize if this news brought you any inconvenience. The health and safety of our volunteers, and students, and other contributors is our top priority and I thank you in advance for your understanding.

Additionally,  the impact of the new coronavirus disease, COVID-19, is being felt around the world. We believe we are better when we work together. It’s important for us all to take the necessary steps to keep ourselves, our loved ones, and our local and global communities safe and supported.

As a college student, although COVID-19 presents a serious health concern and has led schools to shift to online learning, I've began to further understand the global impact and the United Foundation of Central Florida, Inc. will work diligently with our partners, sponsors, and other contributors. Within our network, institutions and organizations are sharing their thoughts and reflections on the impact of COVID-19 to their daily lives and local communities. We are actively reviewing the needs, resources and changing landscape of the communities we serve. And while this is an ongoing process, this has immediately allowed us to agilely adapt to our communities requirements. We will use these reflections  to guide our response and proactive engagement with community leaders.

It's imperative that all volunteers, donors and individuals who anticipate on interacting with others to either physically distance themselves or ensure they are healthy, capable and willing.

Also, check out our Social Distancing Tips Below! Most of all, don't forget to wash your hands!

In the Spirit of Excellence,

Julien M. Serrano-O’Neil
