The Division of Global Engagement & Empowerment (GEEC)
Legacy Rooted. Future Driven.

From GEEC to the Division: A Story of Growth, Legacy, and Vision

Once just an acronym, GEEC—the Global Engagement & Empowerment Center—began as a bold experiment in uniting communities through philanthropy, culture, and connection. At its heart, GEEC represented more than just a name; it became a symbol of action, a call to engage, and a platform to empower.

GEEC was where:

  • Volunteers mobilized to serve.

  • Donors invested in transformation.

  • Equity took center stage.

  • Students and families found belonging.

  • Data turned into action.

  • Culture was celebrated, not sidelined.

As our vision grew, so too did the structure behind it. Recognizing the need for deeper integration, broader reach, and greater strategic alignment, we expanded GEEC into a formal Division—one that reflects the full spectrum of empowerment, innovation, and collaboration needed in today’s world.

Yet the soul of GEEC remains.

Today, GEEC is more than an acronym.
It’s our ethos.
Our legacy.
Our heartbeat.

We still call ourselves GEEC, not out of nostalgia—but because what it stands for has only grown stronger. It is the connective thread across our departments, our people, and our purpose.
