UFCF CEO & Founder, Sandra Fatmi-Hall Honored with Prestigious MLK Humanitarian Award

United Foundation of Central Florida Founder Honored with Prestigious MLK Humanitarian Award

ORLANDO, FL – March 2, 2025 – The United Foundation of Central Florida, Inc. (UFCF) proudly announces that its Founder and CEO/Executive Director, Sandra Fatmi-Hall, has been awarded the 2025 MLK Humanitarian Award at the prestigious Eagle Awards Gala on Friday, February 28, 2025. The event, hosted by the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida (AACCCF), took place at the Walt Disney World Coronado Springs Resort.

Each year, the MLK Humanitarian Award recognizes an individual who exemplifies the values of service, leadership, and community empowerment in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. Sandra Fatmi-Hall’s unwavering dedication to education, youth mentorship, and community advocacy has transformed lives across Central Florida, particularly in Pine Hills.

In a statement, the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida said:
"We are honored to recognize Sandra Fatmi-Hall of the United Foundation of Central Florida as the MLK Humanitarian Award recipient at the 2025 Eagle Awards Gala. Sandra’s visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to educational equity and community development have empowered countless individuals and strengthened our region."

Under Sandra Fatmi-Hall's leadership, UFCF has made a profound impact, including:

  • Increasing educational success by supporting students in the Future Leaders United (FLU) After-School Enrichment & Mentoring Program, leading to higher graduation rates and increased college enrollment.

  • Addressing food insecurity, having distributed 7.3 million pounds of food (equivalent to 6.1 million meals) to families in need.

  • Enhancing career and workforce development through early intervention programs that prepare students for higher education, vocational training, and career pathways.

  • Strengthening civic engagement by advocating for policies and programs that support underserved communities in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Polk counties.
